So Here’s Some News

I promise it’s exciting! At least for me. About this blog. And cool stuff. About you.

I’ve been working on a couple new posts, (shooting to have at least one of them up this weekend!) and I learned some new things that have interrupted that, in a way.

In February, I started a series of posts on leading theories of contributing factors to anxiety and depression. You may have read them. Since then I’ve continued to poke at these things and come across another rabbit hole of fascinating information. Crazy things about tryptophan and kynurenine and quinolitic acid and more on how exercise and diet influence these things (I’ve joined the ranks of people who run kinda because I’m rather weak in the respiratory catagory) and how childhood stress wires the brain and anyway—

It’s time to rev up a new series of posts where I’m going to dive into things in depth, like, what it actually means for your body to not be producing enough neurotransmitters or what neurotoxins are floating around (no conspiracy here. Just science.) and wrecking you, how chronic stress and chronic inflammation break down healthy bodies, or like. What the heck does it really mean that childhood stress changes you? (I mean. Duh. But let’s look on a deeper level.)

I want to look at not just daily routines, but micro routines. (I promise I’ll explain that.) I want to look at the actual structure of these things and figure out how to explain it on an understandable level for the Average Bear.

Because there is so much information out there, and I think a lot of it fails to come out way because it can be really difficult and complicated and in an effort to make it available to people it gets watered down so much you might as well not tell people anything.

So that’s my next project. I’ll still be interspersing it with philosophy and myth (the posts I’m working on right now!) and I promise to include the simplified explanations along with the complicated ones!

So go team! Time for lots of learning!

It would be nice, and fairly true, to say that “from that time forth Eustace was a different boy.” To be strictly accurate, he began to be a different boy. He had relapses.
There were still many days when he could be very tiresome. But most of those I shall not notice. The cure had begun.
